CodeZERO in Antwerp: building sustainable parcel deliveries together
Ride the wave of e-commerce 2.0
Online shopping continues to grow, offering consumers increasing convenience, but at the same time putting more pressure on cities through traffic, emissions and failed home deliveries. In collaboration with the City of Antwerp, TORFS and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, bpost is taking part in the European project CodeZERO, which is shaping the cleaner deliveries of tomorrow.
Greener pick-up points
The project focuses on the expansion and use of pick-up points and bpost parcel lockers (bbox). They make collecting your online orders easier and more sustainable. On average, delivery to a pick-up point results in 30% less CO2 emissions compared to home delivery.
Plan your days without worrying about missed deliveries
You decide when to collect your parcel, close to home or along your daily route. Bboxes are accessible 24/7, so you won't miss a delivery if you're not at home. You can also choose to collect your parcel in Torfs stores, for which we handle the deliveries.
Our action in Antwerp
As part of this project, bpost has expanded its network of bboxes in the postal codes 2000, 2018 and 2060. As a result, 85% of residents now have access to a bbox within walking distance (maximum 400 metres) of their home or workplace. Our pick-up points can be found on our website. In addition, Torfs offers the option to collect your parcel in-store (click & collect).
Everyone plays a role
By choosing a bpost pick-up point or in-store collection instead of home delivery, you contribute to a more sustainable Antwerp. Together, we reduce the number of delivery vans and emissions in the city.
